  1. Usually not, a …
Usually not, a little trickier because the 2 camshaft sprockets do not want to naturally line up timing marks. You have to hold/move them to line up timing marks and install belt.

  2. the Chrsyler 2.0 is …
the Chrsyler 2.0 is a sweet engine to work on the 2.4 is a sweet paint in the ass. is it any easier with a dual overhead Camshaft?

  3. This set up is …
This set up is exactly the same as a PT Cruiser’s :(. How did you get that mid engine motor mount to align, after putting everything back together? did you have to have the upper and lower mounting struts off ? was it easier to install with then on ,although there’s no movement on the enginemwith those things installed
    installed !

  4. yeah ive done …
yeah ive done plenty. These motors seem to be nefarious around garages here and i havent done one before myself in a Neon. Replacing it and putting it back together ive only had one motor bend valves that was a d15 honda. Just curious thx

  5. Odds are good that …
Odds are good that there will be no bent valves, putting a belt on is really the cheapest way to check. Other than that take off the heads to be inspected.

  6. Yes you need to …
Yes you need to take out the big center bolt. You need the special tool as well, part of that tool will fit in where the center bolt hole is.

  7. To get the balancer …
To get the balancer pulley off do you have to loosen up the bolt first at all? I have been trying to get this thing off for two days… Help! I have a new one to put on due to chugging sound coming from it. Thanks

  8. Take up the weight …
Take up the weight first with a jack under the back of the oil pan at the mid point.. Remove the upper and lower torque mounts. Then the 55 torx screw. It’s the main support around which the engine twists. When raising the engine watch your lower rad hose may need to be disconnected if it gets to tight. May be easier to remove power steering pump if you raise the engine a little first.

  9. A cheap $20 three …
A cheap $20 three jaw puller will work if you get a slightly longer bolt and drill a v for the puller to turn on. May have to rotate each foot to get it in then re-assemble. Use the longer bolt to start to pull the gear on the first inch later.

  10. aww man you so …
aww man you so saved my ass.. you video was great and i got my girls neon back on the the road in no time…….

  11. I never looked …
I never looked that closely, it could be. But the timing cover will still not lift out without the crank pulley off.

  12. Awesome. I am a dIY …
Awesome. I am a dIY type of guy and this addressed a problem dealing with the same area, the tensioner pulley(black plastic ring with roller bearing center). Youtube has everything. Thank u man. keep it up, ill be watching. 2004 dodge neon sxt 2.0 liter

  13. It is just a good …
It is just a good idea to have the jacks in place before removing any engine mounts, safer. I would jack up until you see the engine just start to move, then take out any bolts. I think it was a 2002. Taking your time, with the right tools, (needed) as mentioned in the description. You can save yourself a lot of money. And I suggest that you line up the timing marks and mark them with something (whiteout) before taking off the belt. Torque wrench is good too…

  14. hi great video, i …
hi great video, i have a 2003 neon dealer wants 1100 to do this job, is this a 2002 or 2003 neon? also to jack up the engine do you have the jack already in place before moving the mounts or does it matter, also is it just the upper and lower mount shown on the video and you should beable to move the engine up and down. never done much in the way of this type of auto repair but im mechanically inclined and your video makes me think i can probably do the job, thanks

  15. I honestly do not …
I honestly do not remember. There is some flexibility in some engine mounts, or just remove one end could give you the freeplay you need.

  16. What about the …
What about the lower engine mount didn’t you have to lower that to jack the engine up?

  17. This is one job I …
This is one job I never want to do again. That bottom pulley is insane to get off!

  18. A broken or a …
A broken or a timing belt that jumped will cause the car to not start. The engine will turn over though (unless somehow the engine locked up) So if when you turn the key to the start position and you do not hear the engine turn over then that is a starter/battery electrical problem not a timing belt problem.

  19. I think my water …
I think my water pump and/or timing belt is not working will that prevent the car from turning on ? Because mine won’t start. I was driving it and then the car turned off all of a sudden.

  20. @kuntryboy08 Just a …
@kuntryboy08 Just a ground wire. Not sure exactly why, maybe for static electricity dissipation…?
