cheers for the tip just found it after sending a question at you. nice work .

  2. Great tip and I …
Great tip and I must say that putting out welding videos really seem to bring out the worst people. My guess is that the people that put down others welding probably have just learnt one way to do it and dont really understand the basics of it. Therefore thinking everything not done the way they were taught (probably by a bad teacher) is wrong.

  3. change your …
change your shielgas, normally you will got a hard welding bead if you are using a CO2 gas. try to use an argon gas or a mix argon-CO2 gas.
note: CO2 shielgas is use only for High Strength Steel (HSS)

Just a shout out to say ur vids r awsome…ty i’ve learned alot

if you blow threw wouldn’t that just cause a mess of copper and steel?

  7. Heat sink? NO. …
Heat sink? NO. NOT EVEN CLOSE. Its a backer so it you ‘blow through’ the puddle has no where to go and simply closes back up. You could get the same result with a piece of glass… which is in excellent insulator. Good weld set up, proper penetration.. THAT’S WHAT SAVED YOU, not your hunk of copper.

I am in NZ and was wondering where u buy CO2 for mig? My argoshield is nearly finished and it’s bloody expensive.

Restolad, wtf happened? I watched this vid like 2 and a half years ago back when i was starting to teach myself welding, and now it’s got 128K views? Nice job dude! (And I dig the background music, screw it, and did that Brit aero engineer never look up wtf 6061 is?) (Mech Eng here, 20 years experience).

i agree those blue coloured overlapping flap wheel looking things work wonders

  11. exelent video, …
exelent video, especially because you kept it short and simple :)

the best thing to have when welding really thin materials is a fully adjustable mig welder, so you can adjust the voltage and wire-feed independently.

6 people tryed this and this and weilded the copper to there work lol

  13. great tip thanks. …
great tip thanks. also wondering what size wire you would use for a panel like that?

  14. your right mig is …
your right mig is hard to grind – I use a 3m or blue corps flexable grinding wheel
watch my surface rust removal video i am using them there. they are the best and make short work of of a mig weld.
